Tanisi and Welcome to my page.  This photo was taken when departing from our traditional lands (and family trapline).  Northern Saskatchewan is a beautiful and sacred place that carries with it our history, our stories, our knowledge and our spirit as Nihithawak.  The land calls on us to embrace it's teachings and to draw upon natural laws as a means to safeguard plant life, our medicines, the water and to protect our brothers and sisters relatives who live in the forests, lakes, rivers and sky.  We are in a time of great change and we must continue to reclaim our places and to assert ourselves as stewards, knowledge holders,  leaders and decision-makers.As we know, since the start of colonization in Canada, our continued presence on our lands is always at risk and consequently, our very existence as Indigenous Peoples remains under threat. For many First Nations, our ways of being with the land and each other are held in our language, songs, stories, practices, relationships and ceremonies. These are our laws.
